Attention all Club Members

The Highland Country Club regretfully informs all members that our pool will be closed from July 15 to August 25. While fixing a broken pipe, maintenance workers found a major problem with the filtration system. Unfortunately, this problem is quite complex and requires the work of a plumbing specialist. Because its plumbers are unexpectedly busy at the moment, QuickFix Plumbers, the only company that offers the service we need, will not be able to help us for another two weeks. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience, and are willing to refund the cost of one month's club membership to all individuals who paid for the 3-month Summer Membership.
Because we already offer a twenty percent discount to all members who sign up for the 1-year membership, we will not be offering these individuals a refund. Anyone who has questions or comments about the change should contacts Melvin Woods at 869-654-9874.

Keeping up with the times

ROCHESTER—Train and subway stations across the state now offer passengers comfortable waiting areas, spacious platforms, and better safety features. Sadly, Rochester Central Station is lagging behind. This current situation, however, is expected to come to an end soon. The city government has been negotiating with financiers and the federal government to procure funding for renovating and enlarging the Rochester railway facility, which was built back in the early 1950s. Local government officials hope that there will be sufficient funds to proceed with much-needed updates and expansions within a few weeks. Should financing be secured, starting on February l, the city plans to request proposals from contractors with ideas for making Rochester Central Station a transport facility that residents can be proud of. Plans call for the inclusion of additional retail and dining facilities, enlarged waiting areas, two new platforms, and an upgraded ticketing counter and an automated payment system. Officials are positive that financing will be found and that Rochester will have a fully upgraded station by the end of next year.
