Sports Complex Put to a Vote

Gainesburg, June 3—Gainesburg residents _____(1) on whether a sports complex should be built in town. It was concluded that 82 percent are _____(2) of the project. In consideration of the results, the city approved its construction, and development plans are expected to commence in the coming months.

Gainesburg’s one existing fitness club was _____(3) last year after 30 years of use. This left the area without any functional leisure facilities at all, and residents had been pushing for a sports complex ever since.

_____(4). "Having a fitness center will make athletic resources readily accessible to a wider range of people. It will also help unite the community in a fun and healthy way," said council member Claire Faukes.

The new play, Sunflower Sunset, opened at the Westwood Playhouse last night. A lot of effort went into this production. The actors _____(1) for months, and an elaborate set was constructed.

Unfortunately, this effort could not save the dull dialogue. It was easy to see that the _____(2) was bored - snoring was heard throughout the theater, and many people left before the end of the play.

RE: The New Vacation Regulations

As was announced last week, there has been an increase in the amount of vacation time that will be granted to employees who have been will1 the company for one year or more. As promised, here are the details relating to the additional vacation time:

• An additional 3 days will be granted per year to employees who have been with us for 2 to 5 years.
• An additional week (5 working days) will be granted to employees who have been with the company for 6 to 10 years.
• Eight additional days of vacation will be allowed to people employed here for 11 or more years.

These days are in addition to the two weeks (or 10 working days) that all employees now receive. Please note that this does not apply to employees who are currently in probationary status, they will continue to receive only 10 days of vacation a year.

Car Loan Terms

FIRST LUMP PAYMENT The first payment must be at least 30 percent of the total cost of the vehicle, including taxes. A large payment can be made, which can reduce the size of future monthly payments.

MONTHLY PAYMENTS Monthly payments will be made over a term of 3, 4, 5 or 6 years. Each payment will be equal to the amount still owing after the initial lump payment divided by the number of months, including taxes and interest calculated on our fixed rate of 5 percent.

ADDITIONAL LUMP PAYMENTS Payment larger than the normal monthly amount can be made at any time, but a fee of 3 percent will be applied to any amount in excess of the agreed monthly payment.

BUYBACK OPTION You may apply to have the company repurchase the vehicle from you at any point. There must be appraisal of the vehicle (at the customer's cost), at which point the company will pay the full amount. Any unpaid principle of the loan will be deducted from the repurchase price at a penalty of 20 percent.

As you know, the recent recession has forced us to cut costs in many areas. One area where people have not been fully cooperating is in regard to office supplies. For this reason the following guidelines are being put in place:

1. Dave Smith has been designated as in charge of all supplies. All supplies must be checked through him with your Signature and his before they are removed from the storeroom.
2. There are monthly limits to how much of each item can be borrowed each month. Anything exceeding these amounts must be approved by your manager and Dave Smith, and the justification must be given in writing.

Along with these guidelines, Here are some additional suggestions with regard to conservation of these materials:

1. Hang on to your pens! We go through far too many pens in this office. This can only be because people are carelessly losing them.
2. People should always print on both sides of office paper before recycling. Unless this is for official business correspondence.
3. Folders and binders can be used again once old projects are completed. The cost of these items adds up!

I appreciate your cooperation, and I hope these measures will lead to an improvement in this area soon.

August 9 – The Moon Circus is making its first appearance in New York to present Zora, a show based on an astounding story of the nature. This latest extravaganza is finally ready for the stage after 2 years of production.

At a press conference held in Philadelphia last week, Mr. Gregory Karminski, the director of Zora, described in detail how the show came to be. —[1]—. The show is inspired by Julia Simms’ famous work of fiction, Jungle Tales, taking on the majestic and wild characteristics of the jungle and its inhabitants.

—[2]—. Mr. Karminski emphasized portraying the colors of nature on the stage that Jungle Tales illustrates in words. He paid close attention to the details of the stage designs, costumes, and props to make them look as realistic as possible. He collaborated with Aria Fernandez, a choreographer who created routines for the Seattle Horizon , in creating of the choreography that makes the audience feel as if they are in the actual jungle. —[3]—. Edmond Estrada Wins Albuquerque Judge's Seat

March 18-A spokesperson for the Albuquerque District Court announced that Attorney Edmond Estrada has won his bid for the judge's seat. -[1]-. He will replace current Judge Wendy Delwes, who confirmed earlier this year that she is retiring at the end of March.

In his role as an attorney for the past 25 years, Mr. Estrada has been involved in thousands of legal cases. These included both civil complaints and landlord-tenant cases. -[2]-.

"It has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Albuquerque in my capacity as a lawyer," said Estrada, "and to have witnessed the capable leadership exhibited by Judge Delwes for many years. Through her example, I have learned a great deal about how our courts work best for the people of Albuquerque. -[3]-. Indeed, I feel honored to be succeeding her."

In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Estrada is active in the local community. -[4]-. According to Mr. Estrada's biography, he is a member of the Rio Rancho Land Commission and has volunteered with numerous local charities.

The Regency Scotia School of Design Hosts Historic Royal Costume Display

Threads of Royal History, launched on Friday, is the latest exhibit from the Regency Scotia School of Design (RSSD) in Glasgow. It is a treat for period costume enthusiasts. For the exhibit, the school borrowed 52 outfits belonging to both historical and current monarchs from museums around the world. Of particular note are the 4,000 year old headdress and accessories on loan from the Cairo Museum in Egypt as well as several stunning robes from the Forbidden City Museum in Beijing. In addition, fashion students from the school have created 38 replica outfits. All of the items are beautifully displayed on specially designed mannequins.

The exhibit will last for a month, concluding on April 30. Regular admission is £6.50, but students and faculty of the RSSD are admitted for free. Senior citizens pay £5.00, and children 10 and under pay £3.50. Inquire about student group rates by calling 555-3400. The exhibit space is located in the school's Leighton Hall, which is open from 10 A.M. through 8 P.M., Monday through Thursday.

Hi Larry,

I saw an article in the paper about RSSD's current exhibit and am thinking of taking the students in my morning art classes there for a field trip. I called to find out about student group rates, and if there are 30 or more students, the admission fee is significantly lowered to £4.OO. But I only have 24 in total for both my morning classes, so I was wondering if you and your students might be interested in joining us. The community center's bus seats 55 people, so there should be enough room to accommodate everyone. It sounds like a really interesting display, and I think our students would learn a lot from it as well. There is no rush, but let me know whether you're interested by Friday so I can book the visit.
