Hello all Ellis and Ellis Consulting staff,

As you know, I've been trying to find a way to improve efficiency here in the office and asked you to complete a survey providing your suggestions. -[1]-. For instance, a number of employees have expressed the desire to take more professional development classes so they can add to their skills. And at the same time, I have noticed that we have had to hire graphic designers on a very regular basis. -[2]-. When it comes to very big projects, like Web site design or creating our annual report, this seems appropriate, but in many cases, we are hiring them to do an hour of work that one of our own employees could probably do with a little training. -[3]-.

Consequently, I am considering organizing a short course on basic graphic design skills for any employees who are interested. -[4]-. Travel and Hospitality Convention

The 10th annual North American Travel and Hospitality Convention will be held this year from April 5 to April 9. The Chateau Moraine Convention Center located in Banff, Alberta will play host to the convention and events this year. All those wishing to attend can register online before March 12 at www.nathc.net. On-site registration will also be available on the first day of the convention.

Visitors and tour groups are welcome to view Bennett House from Tuesday through Saturday from 10 A.M. until 5 P.M. Groups of 10 or more are asked to make reservations a day in advance. Those who fail to do so may face significant waiting times. Admission is free, but cash boxes are located at the entrance and gift shop, where donations are gratefully accepted.

Bennett House can also arrange guided visits for students or tour groups for a flat fee of $25. -[1]-. All guests will receive informational brochures, which include history and facts about the Victorian-era home and the art and furniture contained in the rooms. -[2]-. The brochures contain pictures and short biographies of the house's former inhabitants as well. -[3]-.

The barricades will remain in place until the weather allows for adequate curing of the material, which may take up to 24 hours.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We understand this is an inconvenience for everyone; however it is necessary. Once completed, the new street surface will greatly enhance the appearance of the community and extend the life of the asphalt streets. Operation of Detroit's trash incinerator, the largest in the nation, was halted last month, less than a year after it was put into service. The huge plant, which was designed to change waste into energy, had been hailed as an innovative means of putting trash to good use. However, soon after the plan began operating, unhealthy levels of mercury began to be detected in the air around the city. It was soon discovered that the culprit was the new incinerator. Entire neighborhoods were threatened by the toxins being discharged into the air. Environmental officials ordered the plant to be shut down last week. They say it is uncertain when, or even whether, the plant will reopen.

Re: June 25th Annual General meeting
I know that you will be unable to attend this year's meeting on the 25th, so I am sending you the agenda now. Please take a look at it before the meeting and give me your opinion on the items.

We have decided to resurface the tennis courts and need to choose from three contractors. I will send you their price lists and a voting form later. Everyone at the meeting will have a chance to vote. As you know, we have suffered a lot of broken windows recently. I would appreciate it if you could fax me your ideas on how to deal with this problem. The fourth item on the agenda refers to renting equipment. We will limit rentals to one hour on weekends and two hours during the week. Only members will be able to rent equipment on weekends. This brings us to the next item: all members will be required to show their membership card in order to use the sports center at a discounted price.

Please send me your thoughts as soon as possible, and I will talk to you in person when you get back from your vacation.
