Oh, sure thing. But I thought that we got everything yesterday.

Nicky Candela 11:07 A.M.

OK, so we need at least two bags of silver beads and four tubes of yellow icing, I'm guessing.

Subject: Training Courses

Hello all Ellis and Ellis Consulting staff,

As you know, I've been trying to find a way to improve efficiency here in the office and asked you to complete a survey providing your suggestions. -[1]-. For instance, a number of employees have expressed the desire to take more professional development classes so they can add to their skills. And at the same time, I have noticed that we have had to hire graphic designers on a very regular basis. -[2]-. When it comes to very big projects, like Web site design or creating our annual report, this seems appropriate, but in many cases, we are hiring them to do an hour of work that one of our own employees could probably do with a little training. -[3]-.

Consequently, I am considering organizing a short course on basic graphic design skills for any employees who are interested. -[4]-. This would allow us to use in-house skills for smaller design projects in the future. If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, please respond to this e-mail and let me know before April 20.

Best wishes,

Telcorp in Trouble

The CEO of Telcorp, Howard Ballantine, has been accused of using company money to invest in personal real estate deals. A private committee was hired to investigate Mr. Ballantine's financial activity after Walter Scott, the senior accountant at Telcorp, noticed nearly 2 million dollars was missing from the company's primary investment account. Mr. Scott discovered the problem three months ago and reported it to Richard Flint, Telcorp's chief financial advisor. Howard Ballantine denies any wrongdoing, and is hiring his own team of financial officers to investigate the matter, a close friend of Ballantine's said. Telcorp was the nation's leading producer of cell phones until Softphone Inc. opened a factory in China six months ago, which enabled it to save nearly 10 million dollars in production costs. Mr. Ballantine's alleged actions suggest that the company will face more trouble in the future.

23. How did Softphone Inc. decrease operation costs drastically?

Dear Museum Colleagues;

To celebrate Colorado Museum Month, we are devoting ourselves to promoting the unique services and programs that we provide for our communities and their residents in Colorado.

The primary goal of this year's Colorado Museum Month is to raise public awareness of museums' roles to a community. We are seeking support especially from the media, and even from politicians in the state. Our museums, located throughout Colorado, attract an increasing number of visits from all around the country each year by constantly paying attention to high-quality artistic works. In addition, we make available learning experiences for people all ages.

In order to make this special event more effective, we ask for your support and participation. Please take the following two steps that will help bring favorable publicity to our communities in Colorado:

. Invite more than one Colorado state official to your institution and ask for each person's opinion about how to better meet the needs of museum visitors.

. Write a letter to a newspaper, television station, or a radio station in your community to promote your institution.

Ready-made templates are also available on the Web. Please participate and make Colorado a more culturally rich place. With your support, we can make a difference.

Shopping for Free?

Virtual Mall is the creation of programmer Pat Gustin, who launched the free mobile game just nine months ago. To date, more than 300 thousand people have downloaded the application, of which roughly 60 percent are active at any given time. Such numbers are very appealing for companies who advertise through mobile applications.

"The idea of the game is simple," says Gustin. "People rent spaces in a virtual shopping mall and select products to sell from a catalog we provide." -[1]-. He explained that if the virtual vendors are able to manage their stores correctly, they make a profit in virtual money. -[2]-.

The game offers a level of detail and customization that is appreciated by users. It has even proven to be popular among women, a difficult target to reach in the world of mobile gaming. -[3]-.

Gustin says he is also working on another game called Virtual Farm, to which he will apply the same concepts but in an agricultural setting. -[4]-. He hopes to launch the game by early next year.

Those interested in learning more about Virtual Mall are encouraged to download the application for free. For details about Gustin's other games, go to

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Journey! ★★★★☆
Posted by Enrique Turner on February 10

I recently got back from Borderland Tours' 30-day Sahara Tour. At first, all I could focus on was what we were going to eat. I had been excited to try African cuisine, but I generally found it to be disappointing. Because we didn't stop anywhere for very long, the tour company provided most of the meals, which became repetitive. Anyway, the journey started in Morocco. We drove through Marrakech, Meknes, and Fez before traveling by camel to where the desert meets the ocean. From there, we crossed the border into Western Sahara and continued along the coast to Mauritania. In Mauritania, travelers can choose to go south to Nouakchott, camp out in Banc d' Auguin, take a train to Atar, or join a camel caravan to Tagant. The majority of our group wanted to go by caravan, so that's what we ultimately did. It wasn't my first choice, but I was happy just the same. We passed some breathtaking scenery on the journey.
