One of our processing machines broke down yesterday. The repairman said the new part has to be specially ordered, and probably won't arrive for another four to five days. This means that the Belltown branch of Ace Photos only has one machine to process nearly 150 different orders. I noticed that you marked your order as "URGENT" on the processing request form; however, due to the circumstances our 24 hour service is no longer available. Your photos will probably be ready by Tuesday morning at the earliest. If you would rather have your photos processed at another Ace Photos location, we would be happy to mail them for you. We will cover all the delivery charges, and have the photos mailed directly to you when they are finished. Dear Library Friends,

For the past two decades the Central City Library has served as a community hub for learning, technology access, and cultural events. We are launching a fundraising campaign to support the creation of a new Digital Learning Lab that will offer computer classes, media editing stations, and after-school programs for youth.

We hope to raise at least $15,000. With $15,000 we will be able to purchase new desktop computers and tablets for public use. At $25,000 we will install improved climate control systems to reduce energy consumption and lower utility costs. If we reach $35,000, we would also be able to add a small cafe adjacent to our lobby, making the library a more comfortable place to study and meet.

Should we be fortunate enough to raise $50,000, we will be able to host the traveling exhibition "Stories on the Move," which features interactive displays and author events from around the region. Any contribution you can make will help us reach our goal and expand services for everyone in Central City.

Minutes from Central City Library Staff Meeting - October 12

1. Reviewed visitor statistics for September. Attendance was slightly lower than expected, likely related to the construction work outside the main entrance.

2. Received a report on the fundraising campaign. Staff noted that the campaign exceeded expectations and reached $50,000.

3. Emily Carter will finalize the dates for the "Stories on the Move" exhibition. Mark Ellis described a broad publicity plan to promote the exhibition across the city.

4. Work to build the Digital Learning Lab is scheduled to begin next month. The grand opening is set for January 15. Staff brainstormed ideas for classes and hands-on workshops that will be offered in the new lab.

5. Sarah Nguyen reviewed the outreach calendar for school visits. She has hired a part-time coordinator, Tom Alvarez, to handle scheduling so she can focus on developing curriculum and larger educational partnerships.
