The City Park Community Garden has launched a new intergenerational program that brings together seniors and children to grow vegetables and flowers together.
The program provides each participant with a raised bed, a set of basic tools, seed packets, and compost for the season. At harvest time, gardeners may take home a share of the produce they helped grow.

Regular gardening sessions meet twice a week: Wednesday mornings and Saturday afternoons. Participants are asked to sign up for specific time slots so that each planting area has consistent care. Before working in the garden, all new members must complete a one-hour orientation covering safety, tool use, and planting schedules.

Families are also invited to attend monthly workshops on topics such as composting and pest management, and local volunteers help as mentors during sessions. The garden organizers say the project aims to build skills, friendships, and a stronger neighborhood connection.

20. Which of the following does the program supply to each participant?
21. When are the regular gardening sessions held?
22. What must all new members do before working in the garden?

Thank you for the invitation. I would be honored to participate and to share lessons from our recent community energy initiatives, especially the battery-storage pilot in Portland.

I have a conflict on the morning of July 16 due to a panel interview with a funding agency that day. I can present in the afternoon of July 16 or the morning of July 17 if either of those slots would work for the program.

Please let me know which alternative you prefer. You can also call me at +1-503-777-2233.

Best regards,
Daniel Kim
