Re: Planning Meeting

As you know, our quarterly planning meeting will take place in two weeks. I want to let you know some of the topics that will be discussed, to give you a chance to prepare.

First, the overall economic situation in the country looks very good for the coming year. Economists _____(1) an increase in consumer spending, especially in our sector.

All the speed camera fines issued by the Traffic Authority since 1998 may be invalid because a judge in a Sydney district court ruled the photos used to convict drivers were meaningless.

Protestors Disrupt Energy Conference

Environmental activists yesterday protested outside the Mathesonn Convention Center in Chicago where the annual Energy summit was being held. The summit, a high-profile event that attracts the top executives from across the gas and energy industry, _____(1) for over two hours while 2, 000 protestors clashed with police outside.

July 7 – The steamboat Suncoast is returning to the public on August 20. The Suncoast is a historical symbol of the Industrial Revolution in the U.S. as one of the first steam engine boats to travel along the Mississippi River. The Suncoast has traveled up and down the river while hauling agricultural exports for almost a decade. —[1]—.

After the invention of a high-pressure steam engine, the Suncoast was no longer needed. The Pollard Steamboat Company kept the Suncoast’s original shape to maintain its historical value. To convey its historical significance to the community, it was donated to the New Orleans Engines Museum (NOEM) and was displayed at the South Shore Harbor beside the museum. —[2]—.

In order to show off the archaic beauty of the Suncoast to the world, NOEM has decided to use the steamboat itself to exhibit the history and evolution of waterway transportation on the Mississippi River during the Industrial Revolution. —[3]—. While preserving most of its inner structure, NOEM has built an indoor café, a restaurant, souvenir shops, and other facilities within the steamboat for visitors to enjoy. —[4]—.

CE Corporation - Organic Chemistry Lab Safety Rules

1. Before lab activity
Wear safety goggles and an apron to protect yourself from hazardous chemicals during experiments and research. Avoid wearing clothing that could easily catch fire. Otherwise, make sure to wear a lab coat over your clothing. —[1]—.

2. Restricted items
With the exception of authorized heat sources, no items that can cause fires or explosions are allowed in the lab. Our lab activities are confidential, so filming devices are highly restricted in the lab. —[2]—.

3. Organization
It is evident that lab stations are clean and organized at all times to prevent accidents and chemical residues from causing reactions. Before and after lab activities, all chemicals should be put away with lids closed tightly. —[3]—.

4. Emergencies
Accidents can happen anytime during the lab, and thus you must be aware of the use and location of safety equipment. In case of a fire or chemical contamination, a siren will go off, and everyone must leave the lab immediately. —[4]—.

Bluecoats Look to a Brighter Future

Last night the management of the Kansas City Bluecoats finally made the long-expected announcement that the team will be moving into a new stadium in a suburb just within the city limits of Kansas City. -[1]-.

The Bluecoats were one of the top teams in American football two decades ago, winning the national championship once and making it to the final game on another occasion. -[2]-. But recent years have been more difficult, with disappointing placements in the league and a dwindling fan base that has been attracted to other more successful sports teams in the region.

Moving will allow for cheaper ticket prices, more parking spaces, and easier access from other areas. -[3]-. As for the team, it will get to train using state-of-the-art facilities. Work will begin on the currently unnamed new stadium this month and is expected to be finished within two years.

Kansas City mayor Lester Hickman celebrated the team's move, saying, "This is great news for the team, and we look forward to helping the Bluecoats rise back up to their previous levels of success." -[4]-.

August 9 – The Moon Circus is making its first appearance in New York to present Zora, a show based on an astounding story of the nature. This latest extravaganza is finally ready for the stage after 2 years of production.

At a press conference held in Philadelphia last week, Mr. Gregory Karminski, the director of Zora, described in detail how the show came to be. —[1]—. The show is inspired by Julia Simms’ famous work of fiction, Jungle Tales, taking on the majestic and wild characteristics of the jungle and its inhabitants.

—[2]—. Mr. Karminski emphasized portraying the colors of nature on the stage that Jungle Tales illustrates in words. He paid close attention to the details of the stage designs, costumes, and props to make them look as realistic as possible. He collaborated with Aria Fernandez, a choreographer who created routines for the Seattle Horizon , in creating of the choreography that makes the audience feel as if they are in the actual jungle. —[3]—. These efforts contributed to the creation of a masterpiece, a circus that is beyond imaginable. —[4]—.
