Viewing the Exhibits

Our main exhibits are located on the first and second floors of the museum. They cover all aspects of local history up to the present and are organized in chronological order. Museum Bookstore

Bluecoats Look to a Brighter Future

Last night the management of the Kansas City Bluecoats finally made the long-expected announcement that the team will be moving into a new stadium in a suburb just within the city limits of Kansas City. -[1]-.

The Bluecoats were one of the top teams in American football two decades ago, winning the national championship once and making it to the final game on another occasion. -[2]-. But recent years have been more difficult, with disappointing placements in the league and a dwindling fan base that has been attracted to other more successful sports teams in the region.

Moving will allow for cheaper ticket prices, more parking spaces, and easier access from other areas. -[3]-. As for the team, it will get to train using state-of-the-art facilities. Work will begin on the currently unnamed new stadium this month and is expected to be finished within two years.

Kansas City mayor Lester Hickman celebrated the team's move, saying, "This is great news for the team, and we look forward to helping the Bluecoats rise back up to their previous levels of success." -[4]-.

Fire Damages Pet Food Warehouse

Rochester: April 1st. Late in the evening of March 29th, a fire caused extensive damage to the Huggy Dog Co. pet food warehouse on West 24th Street. There were no injuries. The only employee on the premises was security guard Russ Loupinek, who called in the fire at 9:47 p.m. Fire fighters arrived minutes later and put out the blaze. Most of the loading area was destroyed. The cost of the damage is estimated at $400,000.

Early investigations point to a faulty heating system as the cause of the fire. According to a Hugggy Dog spokesperson, the company that installed the system, AMC Heaters, had ignored numerous complaints about the heating units over the past 4 weeks. Huggy Dog plans to take legal action against AMC Heaters.

The Health Factory will introduce a new line of vitamins, a company spokesman said yesterday. The vitamins are intended for athletic men and women, who are looking for a vitamin that will replace vital nutrients lost during strenuous exercise. Unlike regular vitamins, the Health Factory Active Essentials 2020 have more iron, calcium, and potassium. The new vitamins have been tested on professional athletes, such as cyclist Luke Wilson, and are proven to increase athletic performance by up to 20 percent. Of course, health products like the Active Essentials vitamins are not cheap. One month's supply of the new vitamins costs about $200. Christmas Gift Wrap

The City of Burbank provides a number of additional services for the benefit of its residents. These are not part of the standard municipal services provided by most city governments and are made available to residents free-of-charge. Energy Assessment: Residents may consult an energy advisor for some general recommendations on how to improve home energy use.
