Around Nashville – Business Spotlight
July 19
This week’s business spotlight is on Bell Laundro and its owner, Ms. Monica Bell. For those who don’t know, Bell Laundro is a one-stop place that is a combination of a launderette, a café, and a bookstore and is based on Jackson Street. This new type of self-service laundry is one of the most successful independent businesses in Nashville today. —[1]—.
At first, Bell Laundro was not as successful as it currently is. —[2]—. However, Ms. Bell was not willing to give up on her business.
—[3]—. After months of planning, she renovated a part of her laundry into a café-like lounge. —[4]—. In this waiting area, customers can enjoy a cup of coffee and read books while their clothes are being washed and dried.
The customers at Bell Laundro highly value the convenience and high-quality service Bell Laundro provides. Many residents in the area are students at Welch College, who need to do the laundry and buy books for their classes; they know Bell Laundro is perfect to take care of both tasks at the same time.
Ms. Bell was asked by many local colleges to provide tips and advice for students who plan on opening a new business. As a young entrepreneur herself, she seems very excited to lead her class, entitled “Difficulty into Opportunity.”
